What is Platelet Rich Plasma?

Platelet Rich Plasma, also known as PRP is used to add thickness and density to your hair, a great solution for both men and women. It has a remarkable success rate in increasing hair count, thickness and diameter. The process forces the hairs into the Anagen phase (growing) with the desired outcome of thickening those unwanted thinning hairs.

PRP is the most beneficial and useful component in our blood, it increases the healing by re-stimulating your body’s cells. The caveat to this therapy is that it will only work to stimulate existing and dormant hair follicles.

How does it work?

Using your own plasma that is bursting with growth factors, is strategically injected into the scalp, the plasma containing stem cells boosts the regrowth of your hair. Flooding the scalp with new plasma stimulates cells to generate new tissue, promote new cell growth and create tiny blood vessels which improves the circulation in the scalp. Thus, increases hair growth.

The 3 Step Process of PRP

Undergo your phlebotomy procedure, where we’ll extract Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) from your own blood, which is used to repair and rejuvenate your unwanted thinning hairs.

The Science behind PRP

Essentially the dermal papilla (bulb of the hair) feeds off blood, therefore a person who experiences hair thinning or hair loss often needs to re-stimulate a healthy amount of blood flow to the bulb. PRP aids this process by increasing the number of blood vessels attached to the dermal papilla which encourages a normal hair cycle .

PRP FAQ

Results can vary from person to person it's important to remember that PRP is a process & consistency is key. Most patients tend to see results within 6 weeks but can take up to 6 months.

Initially 1 session every month for 4 months thereafter a maintenance session every

6 months or as and when your hair needs a "pick me up"

Unfortunately PRP only works best if you've got existing hair follicles, even if they're thin or dormant, we can help push them into the Anagen phase.

Treatment can take up to 1 hour

Many patients continue their day as normal, just avoid washing your hair for 24 hours.

A question that we get asked frequently. It can be slightly discomforting, maybe a 5/10 but remember no pain, no gain!

It might sound scary but for the most part, there's no real risk associated with PRP as it's your own blood being injected back into your scalp.
